Govt sets up commission to coordinate support and funding for BiH Croat projects

ZAGREB, 6 March (Hina) - The Croatian government has established a commission to coordinate support and funding for programmes and projects of interest to Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in 2026, headed by Zvonko Milas, state secretary at the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.

The commission will review all programmes and projects -- educational, scientific, cultural, agricultural and others -- submitted through a public call and propose to the government how to allocate €9.5 million provided in this year's state budget.

"Croatia continuously supports Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina by investing in projects across all these areas, creating conditions for their sustainable stay and improving quality of life, thereby confirming strong support for Croats as well as a responsible policy towards BiH," Milas said at a government meeting on Thursday.

Members of the commission include representatives of the ministries of foreign and European affairs, science and education, culture and media, health, and agriculture, while the secretary-general of the Central State Office serves as the commission's secretary.
