The funding will cover traffic studies and the installation of bilingual direction signs on county and local roads in areas where bilingualism is officially applied. Over the past three years, the county has invested a total of €150,000 in introducing bilingual traffic signage.
Miletić said the project promotes bilingualism as one of the region's core characteristics and helps preserve cultural and linguistic diversity, while ensuring the rights of the Italian minority as defined by the county statute.
The Road Authority reported that the project covers 84 settlements across 16 local government units. So far, 250 new bilingual signs have been installed, 37 existing signs relocated, and 37 additional speed-limit signs set up.
