Medieval coastal cities such as Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik, and Kotor preserved texts of 'lode' to their patron saints. Today, they are recited only in Kotor ahead of the feast of St. Tryphon.
The feast day mass will take place on 3 February, with the main celebration, including the traditional Bokelj Navy procession, scheduled for Sunday, 8 February, in front of the cathedral.
The Festivity of Saint Tryphon and the Kolo (chain dance) of Saint Tryphon, traditions of Croats from Montenegro's Bay of Kotor, were inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2022.
