EP decides by narrow margin that EU Court must give opinion on Mercosur deal

ZAGREB, 21 Jan (Hina) - Members of the European Parliament on Wednesday narrowly backed a proposal for the Court of Justice of the European Union to give an opinion on whether the EU-Mercosur trade deal is compatible with the EU treaties, offering temporary reassurance to European farmers protesting outside the Parliament.
