"Fourth place, I’m overjoyed! It was a dream journey,” she reported last Monday via Instagram.
Brunović, who has performed three times at Croatia’s national music show Dora, delivered notable performances this season on the German show. Her emotional interpretations, technical confidence, and personality carried her to the final, where she performed alongside Michael Patrick Kelly.
"I am grateful for every moment, every encounter, all the wonderful contestants, and the amazing team," she said.
The Croatian diaspora supported the 32-year-old singer throughout her performances.
"The entire diaspora that voted for her will agree that she definitely won the hearts of the audience," reported the portal Hrvati.ch, which serves the Croatian community in Switzerland.
Brunović was born in Zagreb in 1993, and has had vision problems from early childhood caused by high eye pressure (congenital glaucoma). She soon moved with her parents to Switzerland, hoping to find help in her fight against blindness, but despite numerous surgeries, the problem persisted. Her family decided to stay in Switzerland, where her parents found work and later established their own company.
Brunović has undergone 33 surgeries and lost her left eye in 2001, for which she now has a glass prosthesis.
"Fortunately, I had a happy childhood outside the hospital. I learned how to handle all kinds of situations," she told Story magazine a few years ago.
She added that her strength comes from "faith in God." She listens to music, sings, writes, plays piano and guitar, and enjoys running, swimming, and skiing.
