The fifth annual Croatian Christmas Market and Candy Cane Hunt , organised under the auspices of the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Mississauga and the Croatian Sports and Community Centre of Hamilton, once again welcomed families, friends and members of the Croatian-Canadian community for a colourful Sunday afternoon filled with Croatian tradition, culture and festive cheer.
Inspired by Zagreb Advent, internationally recognised and repeatedly proclaimed the best in Europe, the organisers sought to recreate the elements of that atmosphere and the sense of joy and togetherness that enchant visitors year after year.
In addition to lively Croatian Christmas music and the aroma of fritule fried doughnut and mulled wine, the fair offered visitors a taste of Croatian winter traditions in the heart of Stoney Creek.
The delicious food and drink served at the event, including classic Croatian dishes, warmed guests and brought them comfort on a cold and windy day, the Chamber reported.
A lively market featured 45 local artisans and businesses displaying their handicrafts, festive decorations and treats, Christmas gifts and other cultural and culinary products, showcasing local creativity and talent.
