Grlić Radman: Viteški ljetopis important contribution to preserving Croat identity

ZAGREB, 8 Sept (Hina) - Viteški Ljetopis (Vitez Chronicle) is an important contribution to preserving the historical memory and identity of Croats in central Bosnia, Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said in Vitez on Monday while attending the launch of the fifth edition of the annual publication.

Grlić Radman, who wrote the foreword, said the publication continued the tradition of recording the life and history of the local community and stressed the importance of preserving records of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "Vitez is one of the mythical places of the survival of the Croat people in Bosnia and Herzegovina," he said.

Published by the Vitez branch of the Matica Hrvatska cultural institution and the Volim Vitez association, Viteški Ljetopis chronicles the town and its residents, covering major events, people and achievements in social and cultural life, the economy, sport, education and other areas. Its fifth edition reviews events in 2025.

The launch was attended by numerous political, cultural, religious and public figures. Matica Hrvatska Vitez president Jakov Križanović said the publication sought to preserve a record of the people and events that shaped Vitez's history, thanking those involved as well as Grlić Radman for attending and contributing the foreword.
