Croatia to disburse €3m for 72 social welfare projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina

ZAGREB, 31 Aug (Hina) - Croatia will provide €3 million this year to support 72 social welfare and infrastructure projects for vulnerable groups, including children, families and the elderly, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Labour and Social Policy Minister Alen Ružić said on Monday.

Ružić visited a kindergarten in Mostar's Rodoč neighbourhood, which is being funded by the Croatian government.

"We are continuing to fund the kindergarten this year, including the completion of its equipment," Ružić said, noting Croatia's experience in developing infrastructure for vulnerable groups, particularly children.

The new kindergarten, the first public one to be built in Mostar since the war, is expected to accommodate 120 children.

Ružić said his ministry had provided €9 million in co-financing for projects benefitting Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2023.
