Book of stories by Croatian women in Latin American diaspora presented in Rosario

ZAGREB, 30 Aug (Hina) - CroActivas, a network of Croatian women in Latin America, held its first gathering this week in the Argentine city of Rosario, presenting Guardianas de la Trama (Guardians of the Threads, unofficial translation), a collection of 25 stories by women of Croatian descent from the Latin American diaspora.

The book, published by CroActivas, features 20 stories in Spanish and five in Portuguese, exploring memory, identity and how generations of Croatian emigrants have preserved and passed on their cultural heritage far from Croatia.

The Rosario event brought together members of Croatian communities from across Santa Fe province and northern Buenos Aires province. The book has also been presented in Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile and will next be launched in São Paulo.

CroActivas brings together around 1,080 Croatian women from Latin America.
