Tighter taxi rules proposed, with driver checks and fare caps

ZAGREB, 30 June (Hina) - Croatia is seeking to improve passenger safety and increase transparency in the taxi sector through amendments to the Road Transport Act that would introduce stricter driver checks, expand enforcement powers and allow the government to cap taxi fares, State Secretary Tomislav Mihotić told parliament on Wednesday.
