Office for Croats Abroad awards 2,000 scholarships to students with Croat roots

ZAGREB, 22 May (Hina) - The Central State Office for Croats Abroad has awarded 2,000 scholarships to undergraduates of Croatian descent living outside Croatia for the 2025-26 academic year, and the scholarships amount to €175 per month, or a total of €1,750 over a ten-month period.

This means that the Croatian state has allocated €3.5 million for scholarships on aggregate.

The final list of recipients has been published on the website of the Central State Office.

The largest number of scholarships, 1,572, was awarded to students of Croatian descent studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A total of 300 scholarships was awarded to Croat students from outside Croatia who are studying in Croatia, including 31 scholarships for students from the Croatian diaspora, 57 for students who belong to ethnic Croats communities in 12 European countries, and 212 for students of Croatian descent from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A further 120 scholarships were awarded to Croat students from outside Croatia studying in Serbia, five to those studying in North Macedonia, and three to those studying in Montenegro.
