Đapić Štriga, a member of the Croatian Armed Forces serving at the Multinational Division Headquarters Centre, finished third in the “Veterans A“ category for competitors aged 40 to 49, with a time of 11:41:45.
The endurance race, held near Ronda, covers 101 kilometres over demanding terrain with a cumulative elevation gain of 2,819 metres, which competitors must complete within 24 hours.
More than 9,000 competitors took part in this year’s 26th edition of the race, including 887 women, with most participants being military personnel.
Đapić Štriga also recorded the second-best overall time among female military competitors.
She said she was pleased to have had the opportunity to represent the Croatian Armed Forces as part of the HQ MND-C team at the prestigious event.
Reflecting on the race, she said that a graffiti message seen at the 87-kilometre mark – “A legionnaire does not give up when it hurts; that is when they show who they are“ – had particularly stayed with her.
