The certificates were handed out during consular days held on 27–28 March in Córdoba, the country’s second-largest city, by officials from Croatia’s consulate in Buenos Aires.
The ceremony took place at the Croatian Home, a hub for the local community that is also set to host a gathering of the South American Croatian diaspora in November.
An estimated 300,000 people of Croatian origin live in Argentina.
Croatia’s government has been encouraging people of Croatian descent to relocate to the country, which faces population decline and labour shortages, while interest in Croatian citizenship and passports has been rising across South America in recent years.
Further consular days are planned in Mendoza, Montevideo and Asunción, Croatian public broadcaster HRT reported.
