Croatia, UNDP helping in refurbishing Janjevo electricity network

ZAGREB, 6 Feb (Hina) - Croatia, in cooperation with UNDP, is refurbishing the electricity network in Janjevo, Kosovo, to modernise outdated infrastructure and ensure reliable lighting and power, the Foreign Ministry said on Friday,

The project brings the Croats living in the village "security, hope, and a stronger future," says the ministry adding that it  is scheduled to run from December 2025 to July 2026.

Croatia’s ambassador to Kosovo, Danijela Barišić, visited Janjevo, a village near Priština known as a historic centre of the Croatian diaspora, to observe the progress of the work firsthand, the ministry said.

“The electricity network project in Janjevo, financed by the government and the ministry as part of Croatia’s international development efforts, brings more than electricity - it brings security, hope, and a stronger future for the local community,” the ministry statement said.

“Through cooperation and concrete actions, Croatia continues to support local communities and invest in people-focused sustainable development," it added.
