Chinese foundation honours Ana Rucner for artistic and humanitarian work

ZAGREB, 5 Jan (Hina) - The Soong Ching Ling Foundation Beethoven Funds from Shanghai has awarded Croatian cellist Ana Rucner the "Charity Artist of the Year 2025-2026" award, honouring artists whose work combines artistic excellence with humanitarian engagement.

Hit Records said it was particularly significant that the recognition came from China, a country with a rich cultural tradition and one of the world's largest music scenes.

Commenting on the award, Rucner said it was an "indescribably beautiful feeling to be chosen, acknowledged and recognised".

Ana Rucner is a Croatian cellist known for blending classical and modern music and for her use of the electric cello. Coming from a musical family, she graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music in 2005.

The Shanghai-based Soong Ching Ling Foundation, established in 1986, is a public welfare organisation active in education, culture, health and medicine, as well as other socially sustainable fields. Alongside social changes in China, it has also developed international cooperation and exchange projects.
