This marks the first direct railway connection on this route in over 30 years. The train will run from Zagreb to Pula via Ljubljana every Friday, returning on Sundays via the same route.
The three cities will be connected by a modern low-floor Slovenian Railways train. It is accessible for wheelchair users, includes space for bicycles and strollers, and features Wi-Fi and a modern passenger information system. The train has 171 seats and can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h.
In addition to the six daily trains already operating between Zagreb and Ljubljana, two more lines will be introduced from 20 June, operating on Fridays and Sundays.
From 21 June, two additional trains will connect Pula and Divača (in southwestern Slovenia) on Saturdays, and from 28 June to 31 August, four seasonal cross-border trains will run between Buzet and Divača.
The introduction of these trains improves regional connectivity and promotes sustainable mobility at affordable ticket prices, HŽ said.
