(FILES) A US M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is on display during a demonstration near Setermoen on March 12, 2026, as NATO conducts its Cold Response military exercise. Sweden's government said on September 7, 2026 that the country would spend seven billion kronor (USD 730 million) to buy US-made HIMARS rocket artillery for it military. The government said in a statement that the acquisition would "enable the Swedish Armed Forces to operate over larger areas, and with greater long-range capacity than with current systems."
