FRANCE-HISTORY-ARCHEOLOGY
This photograph taken on March 17, 2026 shows an archeological dig site revealing gallic (Gaulois) burial sites in central Dijon, central-eastern France. In the very heart of Dijon, five new tombs of Gauls buried in a seated position have been discovered during preventive excavations rare types of burials that raise many questions. For the past few days, pupils at the Josephine Baker primary school group in Dijon have had a new attraction: a particularly well-preserved skeleton lying at the bottom of a circular pit, in an excavation area right next to their playground.
