Croatia's economic growth slows to 1.7% in Q2

ZAGREB, 27 Aug (Hina) - Croatia's economy grew for the 22nd consecutive quarter in the second quarter of this year, supported by household consumption, investment and exports, but growth slowed from the previous quarter.

According to the first estimate released on Thursday by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 1.7% in real terms year-on-year in Q2.

The economy had grown by 2.2% in the previous quarter. The 1.7% annual growth rate is the slowest since the fourth quarter of 2020, when the economy contracted amid the coronavirus crisis.
