Ministry funds diploma translation into Croatian for emigrants

ZAGREB, 7 April (Hina) - The Ministry of Demography and Immigration has announced a €25,000 public call to fund the translation of foreign higher education qualifications into Croatian for Croatian emigrants, their descendants and family members in 2026.

The call remains open until 30 November or until the available funds are used up.

The funding covers the cost of translating documents that prove foreign higher education qualifications, including diplomas and, if necessary, full study programmes, regardless of the recognition procedure or profession. Eligible applicants include Croatian emigrants and their families with Croatian citizenship, as well as non-citizens who have been granted temporary or permanent residence in Croatia for the purpose of return or immigration, provided they completed higher education abroad.

Translations must be carried out by certified court interpreters, either in Croatia or abroad, with proper certification linking the original documents and their Croatian translations. Applications are submitted exclusively by email using a form available on the Ministry’s website, and additional information can be requested via email at razvoj-povratak@mdu.hr.
