From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artisans and experience a part of Zagreb's centuries-old cultural heritage.
"This is a chance for Zagreb's residents and their guests to see where and how the jewellery they wear is made, to talk to the people who create it, and to understand why Zagreb's goldsmithing is an essential part of our city's identity," said Goran Jelinek, head of the Goldsmiths and Watchmakers Section of the Zagreb Association of Artisans.
Goldsmiths will offer free cleaning services to restore the shine of gold and silver jewellery, the association said. Those who decide to have their jewellery repaired or purchase a new piece will also be able to receive a discount.
All goldsmith workshops participating in the event will be marked with a special sticker reading "We are taking part in the Shine of Tradition promotional campaign" and a decorative window display symbolising gold, light and elegance. The aim of the event, the association noted, is to bring this craft closer to the public and enrich Zagreb's cultural and tourist offerings during the pre-holiday season.
