Matica Hrvatska cultural association to hold book festival in early June

ZAGREB, 28 May (Hina) - The Matica Hrvatska (MH) cultural association will hold its fourth book festival under the slogan "Matica of Good Books", from 5 to 8 June, featuring book presentations, interviews with authors, exhibitions, concerts, and poetry evenings at the institution's headquarters in Zagreb.

Alongside presentations of new titles from Matica's branches across Croatia, the festival will also host branches from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as publishing houses including Alfa, Disput, Naklada Ljevak, Kršćanska sadašnjost  and  representatives of some other cultural and educational institutions.

The Matica branch in Grude will present a collection of selected poems by Antun Branko Šimić translated in 18 languages, along with an initiative to erect a monument to the poet in Zagreb.

The festival is supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media and the City of Zagreb. Admission to all events is free.
