The aim of the event is to provide meals for hungry children, spread awareness about Mary’s Meals and highlight the importance of physical activity for health.
All donations collected during the run will go towards the "Zagreb, Croatia" kitchen, which was opened in Benin thanks to the efforts of volunteers and benefactors from Zagreb and the surrounding area. This kitchen currently provides daily school meals for 702 children.
Registration and race number collection will begin at 9:00 a.m. on 18 May. The children’s race will start an hour later, with a suggested entry fee of three euros. The 5-kilometre adult race will begin at 10:30 a.m., and for a suggested donation of eleven euros, participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt. This donation is enough to provide a child with Mary’s Meals for half of the school year.
Mary’s Meals provides a daily meal at school for more than 2.6 million children across 16 countries. The organisation reminds us that a donation of just €22 is enough to feed one child for an entire school year at their place of education.
