Croatian Embassy in Tokyo to provide premises for Croatia's 2020 Olympic team

ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - Thanks to the Croatian government and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and most of all Croatia's Ambassador to Japan Drazen Hrastic, the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) will organise the Croatia House in the Croatian Embassy building during the 2020 Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the HOO said on Thursday.

It was difficult to find adequate premises at an affordable price and then a sports-diplomatic venture came up with a favourable and practical solution.

Ambassador Hrastic met with the national Olympic association and informed the president and secretary-general of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Matesa and Josip Cop respectively of the refurbishment that will be done in a part of the embassy building so that it can accommodate the Croatian Olympic team.

Hrastic explained that with relatively small financial investments the Croatia House could be very functional during the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Matesa thanked the ambassador and Croatia's former and incumbent foreign ministers for making this offer.
