The diminutive 2CV or Deux Chevaux was the first post-war Citroen model, produced in 1948.
The world meetings of owners and fans of "tin snails" have been organised every second year since 1975.
This year, the Samobor-based club of 2CV drivers and fans managed to win the hosting of the 23rd annual meeting, and about 3,000 vehicles with some 12,000 participants from 36 countries are expected to flock to the Samobor gathering from 30 July to 4 August.
According to some estimates, there are currently around 200 "tin snails" across Croatia and 70-80 are still registered. These popular vehicles were manufactured from 1948 to 1991.
Samobor will set up a camping site for the cars and a large number of participants in the world meeting.
The participation fee is set at 100 euro per car.
